Construction of the ship was begun in 1682 by \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"en-GB\"\u003ethe master builder Antonio de Amas and she was launched in 1687 at the Colindres shipyard in Cantabria. She had a displacement of about 1500 tons.
